Policies & Procedures for Return to Play After Covid-19

We are committed to reopening as safely as possible and as gradual as necessary in order to help protect our families and staff.

All families will need to log into their current Zenith account on the Parent Portal to choose their new class time and accept Zenith Gymnastics’ updated policies.

All Zenith Gymnastics equipment has been treated with a cleaning agent to further limit surface spread diseases.  

Facility Guidelines

Precautions

Safety/Cleaning Stations

  • Safety stations have been set up throughout the building that include sanitizer for athlete use.
  • Cleaning stations are set up in each area throughout the facility for staff.
  • Staff will be disinfecting bathrooms after every use. Coaches, team gymnasts, campers, and spectators have a specific bathroom reserved for their group.
  • The foam pit will be closed off to all and covered with mats. 

Cleaning Schedule

  • All hard and soft surfaces are being sanitized between scheduled class times utilizing CDC approved solutions and an ionizing gun. 

Drinking Fountains

  • Drinking fountains have been blocked off.
  • Athletes and staff will be responsible for bringing their own water bottles. 

Physical Distancing 

  • The gym has been marked off with social distance markers at all events and all waiting areas.
  • Athletes will follow designated pathways once inside the building.
  • Lesson planning will eliminate partner and group activities and will be modified to insure safe and proper distancing.
  •  Classes will be staggered and class size will be reduced to limit congestion in the common areas.

Equipped Employees

Wellness Policy

  • Our employees are subject to wellness checks each day.
  • We are following all PPE requirements by the NC Department of Health

Sanitizing/ Hand Washing 

  • Staff will wash/sanitize hands prior to and at the conclusion of class and practices and in between rotations.

Spotting Guidelines

  • Staff will have limited or no physical contact with children for the first phase of reopening. 

Staff Training

  •  Staff will be thoroughly trained on establishing and maintaining distancing and sanitizing standards.
  •  Staff will follow all PPE requirements set by the NC Dept of Health.

Phases of Reopening

Phase-In Process

Zenith has a comprehensive set of policies and procedures with three phases of reopening – each phase mandates different degrees of precaution and safety, from Phase 1, the most controlled, to Phase 3, our ‘back to normal’ level. New policies and procedures will be sent out upon entering a new phase.

Classes 

  • Recreational classes will reopen September 8th, 2020 
  • Customers will need to register for new classes on the parent portal, as class times have been adjusted to accommodate distancing guidelines and ratios.
  • Lesson planning will reflect 6’ – 12’ physical distancing between individual students and athletes.
  • Gymnasts will be kept in the same groups each day.
  • During the phase-in periods, equipment may be limited. With this being said, Zenith will do everything possible to make sure that all students receive equal time on the equipment.

Phase One- June 1: Boys and Girls Team Camps 

Phase Two- June 15th: 

  • Summer Camps

Phase Three- September 8th :

  • Boys Recreational Classes Ages 5 and Up
  • Girls Recreational Classes Ages 5 and Up
  • Preschool classes and tumbling classes

Entering & Exiting The Building

Entering the Building

  • Families are asked to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of class / practice. Please remain in your car until that time. 
  • Separate entrances for coaches, team gymnasts, and campers along with staggered arrival and end times.
  • All athletes that attend classes will enter in the main doors of the building. 
  • Athletes will line up at the front door to go through our safety station where their temperature will be taken, shoes removed and hands sanitized upon entering the building.
  • Once the athlete is cleared they will be directed inside where a staff member will take attendance and direct the athlete to a designated area on the floor. Parents are then asked to wait in their cars for dismissal.
  • Please have your athlete dressed for class prior to arrival.

Exiting the Building 

  • At the end of class athletes will make a final trip to the Sanitization Station.
  • Parents will be able to pick up at the main entrance of the facility to retrieve their athlete and are asked to practice social distancing or stay in your cars.
  • A Zenith Staff member will be present in this area to assist the athletes as parents arrive.         

Athlete Guidelines

Wellness Policy

The wellness policy is a commitment to adhere to self-assessments including temperature checks, physical distancing, and 24 hours of no-symptoms to participate in programs at Zenith Gymnastics. Questions about possible symptoms or exposure to covid-19 will be asked at the time of drop off.

Face Coverings

Athletes will be allowed to wear masks but are not required to do so at this time. This is at the discretion of the parent.

Temperature Checks

  • Athletes will have their temperature taken with a touchless thermometer upon entering Zenith Gymnastics.
  • If a temperature is above 100.4, the athlete will be asked to leave. 
  • If the first reading is just under 100.4, we will wait 10 minutes and rescan to allow for body temperature adjustment.

Hand Washing & Sanitizing

  • Athletes will be required to sanitize their hands upon entry to the facility.
  • Athletes will be required to wash or sanitize hands after each rotation.

What to Bring To Class

  • Athletes should bring a small bag that will fit their shoes and a water bottle
  • Athletes should bring 1 filled water bottle clearly marked with their name.

What To Wear During Class

  • Athletes are asked to come dressed for class. Leotards only for girls, shorts and t-shirts for boys.
  • No shoes, socks, or jewelry during class. Hair should be in a ponytail so it is not getting in their face.

Parent Guidelines

Parent Viewing

  • To minimize the risk to parents, gymnasts, and staff parent viewing will be extremely limited. Designated viewing areas are appropriately marked and are 6 feet apart. No chairs will be provided. 
  • Parents that need to enter the building for whatever reason, are required to wear a face covering. Thank you for understanding that this is for the safety of our athletes and staff.
